How To Rank Your Small Business on Google

With a majority of people searching “Services/Product Near Me” growing more every year, local businesses must understand how the Google Local Search algorithm works.

Now you might be thinking, “How can I get my business to the top then?” Something that many businesses FAIL to take advantage of is Google’s FREE tool for business owners. This is “Google My Business”, here you can take control of your Google listing (if it already exists) and fill in all the details about your business.

Relevance: Google is asking “Does this business offer the service or product that the user is searching for?”

Proximity:
Here the mythical Google asks, “Is this business close enough to the user?” Also, some local searches are “Services/Products in City, State” In which case the algorithm finds businesses in that specific location.

Prominence: This is where popularity and great reviews come into play.
